How would you improve your graphic design studio or office?

Just lately, we have been wondering how we could improve our graphic design studio to make it a more creative workspace. Whether it means adding a huge mural on the wall or simply designing some graphic art, we feel it could do with a bit of a change. After all, an extravagant and funky working space should give you an extra boost of inspiration! This led me to start looking at unusual and creative offices. Here are a few offices and creative spaces that take that concept to the extreme:

Sigrid from Norway emailed with a reader request that I thought I'd tackle today, because it's an easy one. :) "I love library and rooms and walls full with bookshelves. I would be honoured if you could post some pictures of rooms and walls full with bookshelves." I would give anything to have a library, a room filled with floor to ceiling bookcases to fill with my ever-growing collection of shelter mags and books. I love to see how people cope with their own book and mag collections. Here are some rooms where large collections are easily stored away.

Eco-Friendly Dream Home in England

The small town of Bolton, England is mostly just an outlying borough of Manchester. It does have at least one special feature, though: an 8,000 sq. ft., zero-carbon, eco-friendly home, designed by Make Architects. And it was a major work of love for the community; the structure's construction was a collaboration between the town, the client, and the UK's Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment.

The home is a single story, 4-bedroom deal, equipped with a living roof of plants and such an energy-efficient nature as to allow it to produce even more energy than it consumes. The building of the house involved officials from the British Government's advisory panel for renewable and sustainable energy and is being held up as an example for new buildings all over the country.
